Vítor Tedim Cruz was born in Porto, Portugal in 1974. Menerima gelar M.D. dari ICBAS-HGSA, Universitas Oporto (1992-1998), lulus dari departemen Neurologi (2001-2005), melanjutkan ke pascasarjana di bidang Manajemen Sistem Kesehatan di Sekolah Bisnis Universitas Oporto (2009-2010), dan menyelesaikan PhD di bidang Ilmu dan Teknologi Kesehatan di Universitas Aveiro pada tahun 2014. In 2015 he integrated the Epidemiological Research Unit at the Public Health Institute of the University of Oporto.
Minat riset utamanya adalah dalam bidang neurorehabilitas, neurologi kognitif dan perilaku, serta penyakit serebrovaskular. He is the principal investigator and co-investigator of public funded scientific projects and co-author of international peer-reviewed articles indexed in Pubmed, 15 books and book chapters. Memberikan kuliah Neurosains sebagai Invited Assistant di Departemen Ilmu Kesehatan, Universitas Aveiro (2006-2014). As a Senior Neurologist (2006-2016) he worked at the Neurology Department, Centro Hospitalar Entre Douro e Vouga, Santa Maria da Feira, Portugal, where he ran a memory clinic and acute stroke care organisation. In 2011 he co-founded Neuroinova, a company dedicated to research and development of technologies in the field of cognitive rehabilitation and commercialisation of COGWEB®, Brain on Track® and CACAO® systems. He is a member of the board of the Portuguese Stroke Organisation (since 2011) and of the board of Neurologists of the Portuguese Medical Council (2012-2021). Since 2016 he is head of the Neurology Department and Stroke Unit at Unidade Local de Saúde de Matosinhos, Portugal.
